She and her husband are empty nesters now. In their spare time, they love saltwater fishing together and playing with the dogs. She enjoys working with buyers and sellers to find that perfect home. J. Wayne Sears has joined Champion Real Estate after serving the Rocky Mount/Nashville communities for forty-six years. He served with the Rocky Mount Police Department for thirty-one years and retired as a Commander with the rank of Captain. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and co-led an FBI Safe Streets task force for three years prior to retirement. Sears holds a master’s degree from NC Wesleyan University and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville. Wayne recently retired from NC Wesleyan University after serving as Director of Campus Safety for ten years. The University was ranked the fifth safest in the State in 2025. Wayne has served on many boards during his life here including, the American Red Cross, Ducks Unlimited, Englewood Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church Rocky Mount, Chair of the Governor’s Crime Commission- Criminal Justice Division, Chair of the Town of Nashville Planning Board and the Town of Nashville Board of Adjustments. Wayne joins his wife, veteran realtor Audrey Sears at Champion Real Estate; to form The Sears Team. Wayne is a Full Broker and looks forward to bringing his years of integrity and dedication to assist you!
